The Brambled Nest represents a long-time dream fulfilled for owner Julie.
Her astute eye for finding the perfect gift or just the right touch for
a home comes from years of shopping for her childen and caring for a wide variety of animals. It is not uncommon to find her daughters and husband behind the counter, her grandchildren playing in the back room, or her dog Mozes wandering the aisles. And every customer is greeted with the happy chatter of her 5 zebra finches.
Like her home, the Brambled Nest provides a refuge for lost souls and entangles others in a simpler pace of life. Global issues, local matters, and personal triumphs and tragedies are shared, debated and cried over within the store's welcoming brambles. Julie's warmth and caring extend to every kind person visiting the store, providing a cozy, stressfree alternative to the area's traffic and malls.
The Brambled Nest has been written up in The Washington Post, the Washington Flyer Magazine, The Vienna Times and Gotta Shop: 50 Great Little Place in the DC area.
